| If
you are looking for a small, peaceful, and family-friendly location
with great surroundings, you should come to Njivice, Montenegro
– The Place of Dreams! Njivice is situated
at the entrance of the Boka Kotorska bay, the most beautiful
gulf of the Mediterranean and the southernmost fjord in the
world. Cratered by a natural composition of bays and gorges,
the bay belongs to the Adriatic Sea and has pure and clear
water. Many beaches, including a nearby nudist beach, are
ideal for swimming, scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, and
other sports. This location has the greatest number of sunny
days in the Adriatic.
Across the bay from Njivice are the towns Herceg
Novi and Igalo. Herceg Novi is more than 600 years old and
has numerous fortresses, palaces, and churches. Igalo is regionally
famous for the Institut Igalo, a well known Mediterranean-themed
health spa. Both towns have numerous restaurants and night-clubs.
Since Njivice is located by the bay, the sea
is calmer and also a few degrees warmer than the open sea.
However, the open sea is just minutes away. Just outside the
bay there is an old forte on the Island Mamula that's surrounded
by cool, crystal-clear water. Across from Mamula are several
beaches and restaurants in Zanjice and Miriste. If you like
fishing, Njivice is the best place to be at.
Why Njivice? As we said, Njivice is a small
settlement with only one street running through it. This means
that the local beaches are not overcrowded and over-commercialized;
there are no loud restaurants to disturb your sleep, but if
you crave the night life, you can easily reach Herceg-Novi
or Igalo.
