During your stay in Villa “I Love Njivice” we can help you organize your stay and recommend beautiful, interesting and historical places to visit.
First of all we would like you to RELAX, take in deep breath of healthy sea air, look at the blue sea, mountains and watch the boats pass by. We would like you to enjoy your holiday! Youtube video
It is a great to have a swim just minutes after you get up in the morning, or to read on the beach in front of our house in the shade of tamaris trees. The children love to catch little crabs around the dock and to snorkel collecting shells.
Swimming, fishing, snorkeling, diving, sailing or kayaking is perfect for relaxation. Those are advantages of staying in the house right on the beach! Youtube video
We recommend you to take a walk down the promenade “Five Danica”, in the length of 6 kilometers, that stretches along the sea from Igalo to Herceg Novi (Meljine) with abundance of little caffes, restaurants and shops.
Herceg Novi was founded about 6 Centuries ago and had a tumultuous history of wars and upheavals. The town is surrounded by walls built during XIV to XIX century. Old part, of Herceg Novi, is very hilly and there are lot of stairs. Visit a Clock Tower, old Fortress Španjola, Forte Mare and Kanli Kula and Monastery Savina. Combination of history and culture. From Njivice you can take boat trip to Rose and beaches Dobrec, Zanjice, Miriste, island Mamula and Blue Cave. Enjoy in “Wild Beauty” of Montenegro and swim in the stunning blue waters. Youtube video
Go Hiking from Njivice to village Zvinje on the hill behind our house, or mountain Orjen that is behind Herceg Novi. Hiking trails lead straight out from the old town or you can join an organised tour which run regularly in the summer.
Bay of Kotor, Perast, Kotor, a World Heritage Site, you MUST visit, as you should not miss the beauty of this Mediterranean towns.
For taking half-day or one-day trips to Dubrovnik, Cavtat or Prevlaka peninsula, in Croatia, our house is also a perfect location. The small border crossing between Montenegro and Croatia, Konfin, with less traffic than at a Debeli Brijeg, is in Njivice! You could visit by car or join an organized tour.
If you want to rent a car, we can organize that for you!
I would like to share with you, experience, REVIEW of my guest from UK:
“This beautiful Apartment is in holiday home, with unique position, on the beach! Perfect for holiday specially with children. ‘The view from our bedroom balcony on the top floor apartment was stunning, across the bay to Herceg Novi and the majestic mountains behind – it was always fascinating to watch at dusk as Herceg Novi lit up. Every morning we sat out on the balcony before 6.30 am with our coffee, waiting for the sun to rise over the mountain ranges opposite, shimmering across bay, before having an early morning swim at 7 am! We would also see huge cruise-liners gliding round the headland towards the Bay of Kotor – by early evening, we would watch the same cruise ships heading out to sea. There was a lovely, quiet shaded terrace at the back of the apartment. Our teenage children loved being able just to skip down the stairs from the apartment to swim from the jetty in the bay. We could sit and watch them playing in the water from the balcony.
As lovely, if not better still, after 3 years
‘We returned this summer after 3 years. The apartment now has a lovely, spacious new shower room, which was a real improvement. Otherwise, it was as blissful as it was 3 years ago, but on this occasion we also took the chance to visit many new scenic places, including the drive up the infamous Ladder of Ancorra outside Kotor to Lovcen with its 29 hair-pin bends (not for the faint-hearted driver!), returning via Cetinje. The Prevlaka Peninsula just round the bay past the local and largely traffic-free border post just up the road is now fully accessible by car, with its eerie, deserted and atmospheric Hapsburg fort at the tip. Tito’s villa in nearby Igalo (visible from the apartment balcony), now open for guided tours, was an unexpected and fascinating but easy evening excursion, well worth it for its historic interest. We also spent a night in Durmitor, returning via the Tara Gorge Bridge and Canyon – taking us round almost the whole perimeter of Montenegro and the best of its stunning scenery in the space of two days! Njivice, apart from being a relaxing, quiet and scenic village itself for those just wishing to flop out, was a great base for touring Montenegro and around Dubrovnik (taking the boat there from nearby Cavtat, to save the hassle of parking the car in Dubrovnik). Gordana was as helpful and welcoming as ever, and we took the boat trip again to the Blue Cavern, with an excellent lunch at Miriste Bay.
This time we flew via Split, staying in Mostar on the way down, but returning directly via the new fast motorway.
The view from the apartment balcony at sunrise and sunset over the bay are still as unforgettable as ever, and now feature as wallpaper on every tablet we have. Wi-fi, air-con and apartment facilities remain excellent. It was a packed fortnight, but shows what can be done if you are keen to explore this lovely country. We will be back.”
