If
you enjoy evening walks or nice hikes...
-Take a walk from Njivice to Igalo or
Herceg Novi. For a portion of the walk, you will be
following the main road which will offer you a beautiful
view of the bay. Continuing on, you will descend to
the rural streets that lead to the promenade "Sedam
Danica" – this is a gorgeous walking trail that
stretches from Igalo to Herceg Novi. The walk is a little
over 6 km (roughly 4 miles) long, but you can turn back
at any time. This promenade can get a bit over-crowded
in the peak season, but one must experience it at least
once. Along the sides of the promenade, the locals will
offer their products, such as home-made, extra-virgin
olive oil. There are also several restaurants with sea-food
displays and a few very tempting ice-cream shops that
are perfect for refreshment.
- If you are up for a hike instead, you can follow the
winding road that goes up the Kobila hill and behind
Njivice. The hike ultimately leads you to a beautiful
restaurant with delicious ethnic cuisines. However,
good food should not deter you from going further and
reaching the top of the hill. At the top, you will find
yourself at the Ilinica; this place is very close to
the border of Croatia and it has a breath-taking view
of the Boka Kotorska Bay and Croation towns Molunat
and Konavlje. Next to the old Orthodox Christian Church,
there is a memorial for the French solders that died
in the Napoleon Wars in 1806: "Aux braves soldats
francais morts pour la patrie".
- From our house you will be viewing a beautiful mountain
called Orien, where you can go for longer and more challenging
hikes. |
